Din Thomas Retires from Coaching After UFC 330 Loss
Din Thomas announced his retirement from coaching fighters just minutes after Gillian Robertson lost a strawweight title fight at UFC 330 on Saturday in Philadelphia.
Following Robertson's decision loss to champion Mackenzie Dern, Thomas revealed his decision during the post-fight broadcast. He expressed that he had aimed to support Robertson until she reached her peak potential, which he now believes has been achieved.
Thomas mentioned the demanding nature of preparing fighters and the associated stress as significant reasons for his retirement from corner duties, although he plans to continue mentoring athletes. His announcement received mixed reactions, particularly from UFC announcer Jon Anik, who criticized the timing of the declaration. Thomas previously hosted the Deep Waters podcast, and Robertson's future in the 115-pound division remains uncertain after her recent defeat.
