Dinesh Karthik Suggests Resting Abhishek Sharma for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has recommended that Abhishek Sharma be rested rather than Sanju Samson being dropped if the team wants to include Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the lineup for the fifth T20I against New Zealand.
Sooryavanshi missed the fourth T20I after Ishan Kishan returned from injury. He had previously impressed with a score of 45 runs off 19 balls in the third T20I. Karthik expressed that it should not always be Samson who makes way for Sooryavanshi, suggesting that a break for Abhishek would be more appropriate.
Samson started the series strongly with a notable performance but struggled in subsequent matches. The discussion about the batting order follows India's defeat in the fourth T20I, where New Zealand scored 259 runs, leading to India's loss by 87 runs. India has already secured the series with a 3-1 lead, making the final match an opportunity to evaluate their team composition.
