Diogo Moreira is in contention for a factory Honda seat in MotoGP 2027, hoping to race alongside Fabio Quartararo. Honda has not yet revealed whether Moreira or David Alonso will join Quartararo in the official team.

On July 21, Honda confirmed the signing of Alonso, who has competed with a Colombian passport. The announcement generated significant interest regarding the team placements for both riders. Moreira, who made his MotoGP debut this season with the LCR team, has shown promising talent.

Moreira signed a contract with Honda that includes a clause for a third year if he is promoted to the factory team. If not promoted, he will be available for 2028. The line-ups for both Honda teams are expected to be announced during the Japanese GP from October 2-4. Moreira has achieved five top-10 finishes this season and was the top Honda rider at the recent Aragon GP.
