Divyanshi Choudhary Accepts Exclusion from Asian Games Wushu Squad Amid Harassment Allegations

Divyanshi Choudhary, a wushu athlete, has accepted the decision of the federation to exclude her from India's Asian Games squad, following her earlier public outcry regarding the matter. She stated that her priority is to recover from a knee injury, which was a significant factor in the federation's decision.

In a recent video message, Choudhary explained that officials informed her about the importance of her health and the need for full recovery before returning to competition. She had previously claimed she was dropped despite winning the final selection trial against Roshibina Devi, a two-time Asian Games medalist. The Wushu Association of India clarified that a medical assessment advised her to refrain from competition due to a partial to high-grade ACL tear.

Choudhary mentioned that several individuals, including Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and her coach Ashok Gautam, helped her understand the federation's stance. While she initially felt unsupported, she now recognizes the backing of her federation. Additionally, she reiterated her allegations of mental harassment by Roshibina Devi, which she claims has affected her and her family since June.
