Dodge Set to Enter NASCAR Cup in 2027 Amid Challenges
Dodge is gearing up to enter the NASCAR Cup series in 2027, collaborating with Kaulig Racing. The announcement follows statements from CEO Tim Kuniskis, who has indicated that the 2027 timeline is ambitious but achievable.
The manufacturer is currently finalizing an engine deal, likely with ECR, to ensure sufficient separation from its Chevrolet production. This move is seen as beneficial for both Dodge and NASCAR, which is looking to introduce a fourth manufacturer to enhance interest in the sport.
Kaulig Racing is expected to be the sole team supported by Dodge, having already placed five RAM trucks on the track this season. Despite lacking a dedicated tech center or simulator, Dodge aims to begin its Cup journey, acknowledging that initial challenges are anticipated. The company hopes to attract top talent by demonstrating progress on the track, even if expectations are low initially.
