The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded for pitcher Tarik Skubal, enhancing their chances in the upcoming free agency market, according to his agent Scott Boras. Skubal, who will become a free agent after this season, is set to make his debut for the Dodgers against the Chicago Cubs.

Boras noted that the trade allows both Skubal and the Dodgers to familiarize themselves with each other, potentially paving the way for a long-term contract. Skubal, previously with the Detroit Tigers, was acquired in exchange for three mid-level prospects.

Skubal has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pursue a World Series title with the Dodgers. His recent performance has been strong, with a 2-0 record and a 1.71 earned-run average in his last three starts. Boras emphasized that the Dodgers' pitching depth will help manage Skubal's workload effectively.
