Dodgers Finalizing Trade for Tigers Pitcher Tarik Skubal
The Los Angeles Dodgers are nearing a trade agreement to acquire pitcher Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers, as reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan on Saturday.
In exchange for Skubal, the Dodgers will send three prospects to Detroit, including outfielder Zyhir Hope and right-handers River Ryan and Brady Smith. Skubal, who has a 2.79 ERA this season with 116 strikeouts, has been a key player for the Tigers but is being traded before he reaches free agency.
Skubal, 29, has had a successful career with a 2.30 ERA over the past two seasons and won the AL pitching triple crown in 2024. Hope, ranked as the No. 25 prospect in baseball, has performed well in double-A, while Ryan and Smith have also shown promise in their respective leagues.
