Dodgers Place Eric Lauer on Injured List Due to Elbow Inflammation

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to elbow inflammation. Blake Treinen has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list to take his place on the roster.

Lauer's recent performance against the Cardinals was challenging, as he allowed seven runs on eight hits, including two home runs, in just three innings. Although his velocity appeared normal, he experienced elbow discomfort during or after the game. This marked Lauer's return to the starting rotation after previously being moved to the bullpen.

The Dodgers are now looking for a replacement for Lauer in the rotation as they face a stretch of nine consecutive game days. Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tarik Skubal are set to pitch the final two games against St. Louis, while the rotation for the upcoming series against Washington remains unannounced. Additionally, Justin Wrobleski has returned from a brief injury stint, and Emmet Sheehan may be recalled for a spot start.
