Dodgers Place Justin Wrobleski on Injured List Due to Forearm Inflammation
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski will be placed on the injured list due to inflammation in his left forearm. In a corresponding move, right-hander Kyle Hurt has been recalled to the active roster.
Wrobleski pitched six innings against the Brewers, allowing four earned runs while striking out six batters. Despite not showing signs of injury during the game, further tests are expected to provide more information. This stint on the injured list will allow Wrobleski to rest, as he has already pitched 126 1/3 innings this season, his highest total in the Majors.
His recent performance has declined, with 19 earned runs allowed over his last 19 2/3 innings, including 11 home runs. Earlier in the season, he had a strong start with a 2.69 ERA in his first 15 games. The Dodgers, who have a deep rotation, can afford to manage Wrobleski's recovery while maintaining their lead in the NL West and preparing for the playoffs.
