Dodgers Reassign Jonathan Hernández to Major League Roster
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced the return of reliever Jonathan Hernández to their major league roster. To make room for Hernández, Landon Knack has been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
This marks a quick return for Hernández, who was designated for assignment just days prior. After clearing waivers, he opted for free agency and subsequently signed a new contract with the Dodgers.
Hernández has had a challenging season in the majors, posting a 6.45 ERA over 22 1/3 innings. However, he recently demonstrated improvement, pitching 4 2/3 scoreless innings during his latest stint. The Dodgers did not announce a corresponding move for their 40-man roster, but records indicate that lefty Charlie Barnes was outrighted after a brief call-up.
