Dodgers Sign Chadwick Tromp to Minor League Contract

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed catcher Chadwick Tromp to a minor league contract, assigning him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

This move follows the release of Chuckie Robinson earlier in the day. Tromp will provide depth alongside rookie Eliezer Alfonzo, supporting the team's major league catchers, Hunter Feduccia and Ben Rortvedt. The return of Will Smith remains uncertain, and Dalton Rushing's ability to play again this season is in question due to a partial UCL tear.

At 31 years old, Tromp has spent parts of seven seasons in the major leagues, with a career batting average of .208 and six home runs over 229 plate appearances. This season, he has struggled, hitting .163 in 21 games with the Braves and Orioles. Tromp has previously moved between Baltimore and Atlanta on minor league deals since 2021, and while his offensive numbers are modest, he is recognized for his defensive skills and positive presence in the clubhouse.
