Dodgers' Skubal Set to Face Former Team, Ohtani May Return
Tarik Skubal is scheduled to start for the Dodgers against the Detroit Tigers this week, marking his first appearance against the team where he previously won two Cy Young Awards.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Skubal will take the mound on Friday after being acquired from the Tigers for three prospects. Skubal has a record of 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA and 30 strikeouts in four starts for the Dodgers.
Additionally, Roberts mentioned that Shohei Ohtani will throw a bullpen session on Friday and could potentially start on Sunday, depending on how that session goes. Ohtani has not pitched since July 3 due to knee and bicep injuries but has continued to perform well as a hitter. Tyler Glasnow may pitch in support of Ohtani's start if necessary.
