Dolphins Acquire Quarterback Kyle McCord from Packers
The Miami Dolphins have acquired quarterback Kyle McCord from the Green Bay Packers for a sixth-round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft, as reported by NFL Network on Sunday.
At 23 years old, McCord has yet to play in an official NFL game but showcased his potential during the preseason, completing 22 of 35 passes for 226 yards and four touchdowns in the Packers' final preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. With the Dolphins, he is expected to serve as a backup to Malik Willis for the upcoming 2026 season.
Prior to this trade, the Dolphins released their three backup quarterbacks and traded Quinn Ewers to the Jacksonville Jaguars. McCord was signed by the Packers to a futures contract after their playoff loss to the Chicago Bears in January, following the hiring of former Packers personnel staff to the Dolphins.
