Dolphins Coach Confirms Malik Willis Will Remain Starting QB
The Miami Dolphins, currently with a 0-5 record, are entering their bye week and looking for solutions to their challenges. Coach Jeff Hafley confirmed that Malik Willis will continue as the starting quarterback for the upcoming Week 7 game.
During a press conference, Hafley addressed questions about potentially replacing Willis with Kyle McCord. He reiterated that the team has played five games and that Willis remains their quarterback. Hafley acknowledged the need for improvement across the board, stating that while the team ran the ball effectively, the passing game requires enhancement from all positions, including receivers and protection.
In his five games as the starter, Willis has completed 73 of 130 passes for 849 yards, recording two touchdowns and four interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of 68.4, the lowest among 29 qualifying quarterbacks.
