Dominic Fletcher Released by Pirates, Becomes Free Agent
Dominic Fletcher, an outfielder, has been released by the Pittsburgh Pirates after activating a release clause in his minor league contract. He is now available to sign with any team.
This marks the second time this year that Fletcher has been released by the Pirates. He initially joined the team on a minor league deal, was released in July, and subsequently re-signed. Despite a strong performance this season, the Pirates do not have a roster spot for him.
Fletcher has recorded impressive statistics in Triple-A, including an 11% walk rate, a 14.3% strikeout rate, eight home runs, and a batting line of .301/.386/.485. He has also played all three outfield positions. With the trade deadline passed, he may find interest from other teams needing outfield depth, and he still has an option year remaining.
