Doubts Raised Over Jalen Hurts' Injury by Former NFL Player
Michael Robinson, a former Pro Bowl fullback and current NFL Network analyst, has expressed skepticism regarding Jalen Hurts' reported blood clot injury. He suggested that the Philadelphia Eagles might be using this situation as a pretext to consider drafting a new quarterback.
The Eagles ruled Hurts out for their upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers after a follow-up ultrasound indicated movement in the clot in his calf. Hurts sustained the injury during a game against the Los Angeles Rams on October 4, 2026, but played the following week in London.
Robinson speculated that the Eagles could be positioning themselves to move on from Hurts, especially with three first-round and three second-round draft picks available in the next two years. However, not all players agree with Robinson's assessment; left tackle Jordan Mailata defended Hurts, emphasizing his leadership qualities. The Eagles have lost three consecutive games and are currently struggling offensively, with Tanner McKee set to start in Hurts' absence.
