Drake Maye Leads Patriots to 17-13 Lead Against Dolphins
The New England Patriots regained the lead against the Miami Dolphins, finishing the third quarter at 17-13. This turnaround came after the Patriots were down by 10 points at halftime.
Quarterback Drake Maye executed a fake pitch to running back Rhamondre Stevenson, which deceived Dolphins linebacker Willie Gay, allowing Maye to score on a two-yard run. The touchdown was confirmed after a successful replay review that extended the Patriots' drive, following a previous fourth-down pass to wide receiver Pop Douglas that was initially ruled short.
Maye's earlier touchdown pass had also faced scrutiny, as it was ruled incomplete before head coach Mike Vrabel successfully challenged the call. The officiating crew, which faced criticism during the previous week's game, was replaced for this matchup.
