Drake Maye Likely Out for Preseason Opener Against Colts
Drake Maye, the quarterback for the New England Patriots, is not expected to participate in the team's preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night, as indicated by head coach Mike Vrabel during a press conference on Tuesday.
The Patriots are currently practicing with the Colts, which is influencing the decision regarding Maye's participation. Vrabel mentioned that while he does not foresee Maye playing, the situation could change as the week progresses.
Maye is entering his third season after a notable performance last year, where he ranked second in AP MVP voting and led the league in passer rating and completion rate. He recorded 4,394 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, along with 450 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
