Dre Greenlaw Ejected for Headbutting Ernest Jones During Game
The San Francisco 49ers are currently leading the Seattle Seahawks 14-10, but they will have to continue the game without linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
Greenlaw was ejected with 6:04 left in the game after he headbutted Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who was not wearing a helmet, on the sideline. The incident occurred after Greenlaw forced quarterback Sam Darnold out of bounds, leading to a confrontation with Jones.
The penalty for the headbutt resulted in a 15-yard advance for the Seahawks to the San Francisco 32-yard line. This is not the first ejection for Greenlaw, who was previously removed from a game against the Eagles on December 3, 2023, following an altercation with a security officer. Additionally, he was fined $11,941 last week for taunting the Broncos’ sideline.
