Dre Greenlaw Suspended for One Game Following Headbutt Incident
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been suspended for one game due to an incident during a match against the Seattle Seahawks. The suspension follows a headbutt directed at Seahawks player Ernest Jones IV, who was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The incident occurred after Greenlaw was penalized for a late hit on Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. Following this, Jones approached Greenlaw, leading to the headbutt that resulted in Greenlaw's ejection from the game. The altercation took place during the second quarter of the game, which the 49ers won 32-29.
The NFL cited a violation of sportsmanship principles in their announcement regarding the suspension. It remains unclear if Greenlaw will appeal the decision, but if he does not, he will miss the upcoming Monday Night Football game against the Washington Commanders.
