Dre Greenlaw's Suspension Upheld for Head-Butting Incident
The San Francisco 49ers will be without linebacker Dre Greenlaw for their Monday night matchup against the Washington Commanders due to a suspension upheld by NFL hearing officer James Thrash.
The suspension follows an incident during the second quarter of a recent game against the Seattle Seahawks, where Greenlaw head-butted Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV. Greenlaw was ejected from the game, marking his third ejection since 2022.
As a result of the suspension, Greenlaw will forfeit $136,388 in base salary and a $23,529 active roster bonus. Additionally, the 49ers may pursue partial repayment of his $2.5 million signing bonus. This absence could also impact Greenlaw's chances of earning a $750,000 incentive tied to his playing time this season.
