Drew McIntyre Discusses WWE Absence and Hollywood Projects
Drew McIntyre, the former Undisputed WWE Champion, has been absent from WWE programming following his loss to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. His time away has been dedicated to acting, with roles in films such as The Last Druid and the Highlander reboot.
During a recent interview, McIntyre expressed his readiness to return to WWE after completing Highlander. However, he received an unexpected offer from Russell Crowe to participate in The Last Druid, which altered his plans. Initially skeptical, McIntyre later confirmed the opportunity and was impressed by the script and character.
After discussing his situation with WWE executives, McIntyre was informed that he could extend his time off if Triple H approved. He had prepared a detailed argument to present to Triple H but found that the Chief Content Officer readily agreed to his request without needing persuasion. McIntyre is currently focused on his film career but anticipates returning to WWE in the future.
