Dubois and Wardley Weigh In for Heavyweight Rematch in London
Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley have both reached career-high weights ahead of their heavyweight world-title rematch scheduled for Saturday in London. Dubois, the WBO champion, weighed in at 18st 2lb (115kg), while Wardley came in at 17st 10lb (112kg) at the O2 Arena.
The two British fighters previously faced off in May, where Wardley knocked Dubois down twice before Dubois secured a victory in the 11th round. Wardley expressed confidence in improving his performance this time, aiming for a knockout win. Dubois, who has won 23 of his 26 fights, is slightly heavier than in their last encounter, while Wardley has gained over 6lb.
The weigh-in event took place at Old Spitalfields Market, attracting a modest crowd. Wardley appeared relaxed and engaged with fans, while Dubois maintained a more reserved demeanor. Promoter Frank Warren anticipates a significant year for the heavyweight division, with potential high-stakes fights for the winner of this rematch.
