Ducati Adopts Aprilia's Swingarm Design; Aprilia Unveils Enhanced Version
Ducati has introduced a swingarm design on its Desmosedici GP that resembles a solution previously implemented by Aprilia on its RS-GP at Silverstone. This move follows Aprilia's introduction of vertical fins on its swingarm aimed at managing rear wheel turbulence.
After Ducati's adaptation was seen at Phillip Island, Marc Marquez utilized the design during practice sessions at Sepang, where he achieved top times. In response, Aprilia has launched an advanced version of its swingarm design, featuring an angled L-shape that extends both upwards and rearward, fitted to Marco Bezzecchi's RS-GP.
The ongoing developments in swingarm aerodynamics come as MotoGP approaches new technical regulations that will limit aerodynamic influences. However, the current innovations suggest that swingarms may become a key focus for manufacturers in the upcoming seasons.
