Ducati Denies Claims of Marquez-Centric 2026 MotoGP Bike Development
Ducati's team manager Davide Tardozzi has dismissed allegations that the 2026 MotoGP bike has been overly developed for Marc Marquez, asserting that it does not disadvantage other riders. Marquez currently stands as the only Ducati rider in the top five of the championship standings, with his closest competitor over 100 points behind.
Tardozzi clarified that the bike's development has been inclusive, allowing all factory riders to choose parts that suit their preferences. He noted that while Marquez's performance has been strong, it does not imply that the bike is tailored exclusively for him, as other riders have different setups.
Despite Aprilia's recent dominance in the Indonesian Grand Prix, Tardozzi expressed satisfaction with Marquez's performance, as he maintained his position in the championship standings. He acknowledged Aprilia's superiority at the Mandalika circuit but remains optimistic about future races, emphasizing the ongoing competitiveness of the championship.
