Dumarey Group Acquires Renault's Viry Engine Facility
Renault has finalized the sale of its Viry-Chatillon engine facility to the Belgian company Dumarey Group after scaling back its Formula 1 engine operations.
The Dumarey Group, which focuses on powertrain technology and engineering components for mass production, is set to take over the site, including Alpine Racing SAS and its associated assets. Both companies are currently assessing the organizational and financial details to expedite the transition.
The Viry facility, located in the southern suburbs of Paris, has been a significant center for Renault's F1 engine program for many years. The sale comes after Renault decided to shift its strategy, opting for a customer deal with Mercedes, which raised concerns about the future of many employees at the site. The acquisition may also affect Alpine's Hypercar program, as discussions with potential partners continue.
