Durham Coach Supports Brydon Carse Amid Investigation
Durham's coach Ryan Campbell has stated that the team will continue to select England bowler Brydon Carse unless instructed otherwise. This decision comes after Carse was briefly detained by police following Durham's victory over Derbyshire.
Carse, 31, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, with social media showing him in handcuffs. Despite this, he was named in the squad for Durham's County Championship match against Gloucestershire. Campbell acknowledged that Carse feels he has let down both his team and the England squad.
Currently, Carse's selection for the national team is uncertain as the Cricket Regulator's investigation is ongoing, which is further complicated by the police inquiry into allegations of assault. Campbell emphasized that until the regulator provides guidance, Carse is free to play for Durham.
