Dwight Powell Joins Turkish Club Fenerbahce
Dwight Powell has signed with Fenerbahce, a Turkish basketball club, marking a new chapter in his career. The announcement was made by the team on Friday.
The Toronto native was released by the Dallas Mavericks earlier in October after spending 12 seasons with the franchise. During his time with the Mavericks, Powell participated in 768 games, starting 266 of them, and averaged 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Powell joins fellow Canadian Kelly Olynyk, who recently signed with Italy's BC Roma, as another veteran NBA player transitioning to European basketball. He was also a member of Canada's national team that won a bronze medal at the 2023 World Cup and competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
