Dylan Murphy Joins Michigan Basketball as Assistant Coach

Dylan Murphy has been appointed as an assistant coach for the University of Michigan men's basketball team after spending eight years with the Magic organization.

He will work under head coach Mike Boynton Jr., who recently took over the Wolverines' program. Boynton previously served as an assistant coach under Dusty May for two seasons.

Murphy's coaching career began as a basketball blogger before he joined the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as an assistant. He later became a basketball operations analyst for the Magic in 2018 and was promoted to assistant coach in 2020. Most recently, he led the Osceola Magic, Orlando's G League affiliate, to a successful record, finishing third in the Coach of the Year voting for the 2025/26 season.
