Eagles Add Xavier Gipson to Practice Squad
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed wide receiver and kick returner Xavier Gipson to their practice squad. This move was reported by Zach Berman and took place on Friday.
In a related roster adjustment, the Eagles placed practice squad wide receiver Danny Gray on injured reserve. Gipson, 25, initially signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent after the 2023 NFL Draft and made the team as a rookie. However, he was waived after Week 1 this season.
After being claimed off waivers by the New York Giants, Gipson was cut before Week 3 but was later re-signed to their practice squad. He was among the final roster cuts during the preseason. In his previous appearances, Gipson recorded two receptions for six yards and returned eight punts for 86 yards, along with 12 kick returns totaling 319 yards.
