Eagles Announce Seven Captains for 2026 Season

The Philadelphia Eagles have revealed their seven captains for the 2026 NFL season, maintaining a similar structure to the previous year. The team includes five offensive captains: quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, receiver DeVonta Smith, and tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. Additionally, linebacker Zack Baun and defensive tackle Jordan Davis represent the defense.

DeVonta Smith takes over the captaincy from A.J. Brown, while Jordan Davis steps in for Reed Blankenship. Notably, kicker Jake Elliott, who held the captain title in 2025, will not be replaced. Davis is the only player earning the captain distinction for the first time, while Hurts continues his streak as captain for the fifth consecutive year.

Typically, NFL teams appoint at least one special-teams captain, but the Eagles have opted not to do so this year, possibly to avoid disrupting a kicker's pregame routine.
