Eagles Coach Discusses Offensive Struggles and Jalen Hurts' Role
The Philadelphia Eagles are experiencing significant challenges with their offense, ranking among the least productive in the NFL after five games. First-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion commented on the situation following the team's recent 19-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
The Eagles currently sit 31st in total yards, averaging 262.2 per game, and are 28th in net passing yards with 170.6 per game. They have scored only 11 offensive touchdowns this season, leading to a 2-3 record. In the game against the Jaguars, the Eagles managed just 232 total yards and 22 rushing yards.
Mannion noted that increasing designed runs for quarterback Jalen Hurts is not a straightforward solution to the offensive issues. He emphasized that the approach to utilizing Hurts in the run game depends on the opponent's defensive strategy. The Eagles are set to face the Carolina Panthers next, as they continue to seek improvements in their offensive performance.
