Eagles' Jalen Hurts Out Against Panthers; DeVonta Smith Limited in Practice
The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that quarterback Jalen Hurts will not participate in the upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers due to a blood clot in his calf. This situation positions Tanner McKee to make his first start outside of Week 18.
Wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who has been sidelined for the last two games with a hamstring injury, was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice after not practicing the previous day. In contrast, wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks did not practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday due to his own hamstring issue.
Running back Saquon Barkley remains out of practice and is expected to miss his second consecutive game. Other players absent from practice include defensive back Michael Carter, linebacker AJ Epenesa, linebacker Jalyx Hunt, and running back Will Shipley. Several players, including cornerback Jakorian Bennett and wide receiver Hollywood Brown, were limited participants.
