Eagles Place RB Dameon Pierce on Injured Reserve
The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that running back Dameon Pierce has been placed on injured reserve, adding to the team's struggles in the offensive backfield this season. This decision comes as starting quarterback Jalen Hurts and three other running backs have also been sidelined due to injuries.
Pierce is the fourth running back to join the injured reserve list for the Eagles this season, and notably, he is the fourth to be lost in just this month. While starter Saquon Barkley has returned after missing nearly three games due to injury, he initially suffered a hamstring issue that kept him out of a game against the Rams.
After Barkley’s injury, the Eagles turned to Tank Bigsby, who was acquired the previous year, but he also suffered an injury that required core-muscle surgery. Will Shipley then took over as the starter but was sidelined with a partial tear in his plantar fascia. Pierce, who had recently been signed, stepped in as the primary rusher before his own injury. To fill Pierce's spot, the Eagles have promoted Jaydon Blue from the practice squad and signed additional players to their practice squad.
