Eagles Place Rookie Tight End Eli Stowers on Injured Reserve
The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Saturday that rookie tight end Eli Stowers has been placed on injured reserve due to quadriceps and hamstring injuries. This decision will keep him off the field for a minimum of four games as the team assesses his recovery.
Stowers, a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, has had a challenging start to his career, having previously dealt with a hamstring issue during training camp. He has participated in two preseason games, recording three catches for 12 yards, and entered the regular season as the third tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Johnny Mundt.
In response to Stowers' injury, the Eagles have promoted veteran wide receiver Britain Covey from the practice squad to the active roster, providing additional support on special teams. While Goedert remains the primary tight end, the Eagles are hopeful that Stowers can return to contribute later in the season.
