Eagles Release Defensive Back Shaun Wade Ahead of Roster Cuts
The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the release of defensive back Shaun Wade on Saturday, just before the roster cuts deadline.
Wade, who is 27 years old, was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft after playing at Ohio State. He initially signed a four-year contract valued at nearly $3.8 million, which included a signing bonus. Wade was traded to the New England Patriots in 2021, where he was later released after the preseason. He subsequently joined the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad before being promoted to their active roster.
Wade had a brief tenure with the Chicago Bears in 2025 before signing with the Eagles a few months ago. In the 2023 season, he participated in 14 games for the Patriots, starting six of them, and recorded 23 tackles along with one pass breakup.
