Eagles Release Johnny Wilson Due to Injury
The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the waiver of wide receiver Johnny Wilson, designating him with an injury. This decision follows Wilson's recent absence from practice due to a knee injury.
Wilson, drafted in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, participated in 16 games during his rookie season, starting four of them. He recorded five receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown. However, he spent the entire previous season on injured reserve.
In related moves, the Eagles signed center Zeke Correll and wide receiver Brandon Hayes while placing Tariq Castro-Fields on injured reserve. Correll, who was undrafted in 2025, had a brief stint on the Vikings' injured reserve last season. Hayes, also an undrafted free agent, has had a fluctuating presence on the Eagles' roster and previously excelled in kickoff returns at Southeastern Louisiana.
