Eagles Sign Former Cowboys Running Back Jaydon Blue to Practice Squad
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed running back Jaydon Blue to their practice squad following his release by the Dallas Cowboys. Blue, a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was waived by Dallas after appearing in five games during his rookie season.
At 22 years old, Blue stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 198 pounds. He recorded 129 rushing yards and one touchdown in his time with the Cowboys, along with a catch for five yards and three kickoff returns totaling 72 yards. He was often a healthy scratch and did not secure a backup position during the summer.
The Eagles had previously shown interest in Blue before the draft, and his addition to the practice squad comes as they already have a strong lineup at running back. Blue's speed and receiving skills from his college days at Texas may provide valuable depth, especially with potential future roster changes. His move to Philadelphia marks a new opportunity within the NFC East.
