Eagles Sign Joe Milton Following Jalen Hurts Injury
The Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their quarterback lineup by signing Joe Milton III from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad after Jalen Hurts was confirmed to miss the game against the Carolina Panthers.
This decision comes as the Eagles face a challenging situation, entering Week 6 with a record of 2-3 after three consecutive losses. Hurts is sidelined indefinitely due to a superficial blood clot in his calf, prompting the team to seek additional options to regain momentum.
Milton will join Tanner McKee and rookie Cole Payton in the Eagles' quarterback room. As he is signed from another team's practice squad, he will be placed on the active 53-man roster. The 26-year-old quarterback was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2024 and has played in five NFL games, showcasing his strong arm and athleticism. McKee is expected to start against Carolina, while Milton's addition provides depth and flexibility for the team as they navigate Hurts' recovery.
