Eagles Sign Quarterback Joe Milton from Cowboys Practice Squad
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed quarterback Joe Milton from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad as Jalen Hurts is out indefinitely due to a blood clot.
Milton, a sixth-round draft pick in 2024, was originally selected by the Patriots before being traded to the Cowboys last year. He was waived by Dallas and subsequently joined their practice squad after not making the initial 53-man roster this season.
Although Milton has not yet started an NFL game, he has played in five games, completing 37 of 53 passes for 424 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown. His signing may prevent a potential return for veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, who was released earlier this month and is considering multiple offers. The Eagles are set to face the Panthers on Sunday, with Tanner McKee expected to start.
