Eagles Waive Receiver Johnny Wilson Ahead of Preseason Game
The Philadelphia Eagles have made a significant roster adjustment by waiving wide receiver Johnny Wilson due to an injury designation prior to their preseason game against the New England Patriots.
Wilson, selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, played in 16 games during his rookie season, recording five receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown. He missed the entire 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL during training camp, which contributed to his release.
In addition to waiving Wilson, the Eagles signed center Zeke Correll and wide receiver Brandon Hayes, while cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields was placed on the Injured Reserve list. Wilson's injury has cast doubt on his future with the team, especially with other players vying for positions in the receiving corps.
