East Zone Advances to Duleep Trophy Final with Victory Over Central Zone
East Zone has reached the final of the Duleep Trophy after defeating Central Zone by four wickets at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The match concluded on Tuesday, with East chasing down a target of 159 runs.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi contributed significantly with a score of 40 runs off 43 balls, while captain Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten on 39 runs from 41 balls, guiding the team to victory. Sooryavanshi's innings included three fours and two sixes, and he formed a solid opening partnership of 61 runs with Abhimanyu Easwaran, who scored 24 runs.
Central Zone struggled initially, being reduced to 97 for eight after starting the day at 45 for three. Despite efforts from Harsh Dubey and Arshad Khan, who added 43 runs for the ninth wicket, they were bowled out for 158 runs. Mohammed Shami was instrumental for East, taking three wickets for 56 runs.
