Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann Considered for Manchester United Head Coach Role
Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann are emerging as potential candidates to succeed Michael Carrick as head coach of Manchester United, should Carrick be dismissed. The club is reportedly assessing options following a disappointing start to the season.
Both managers are aware of Manchester United's interest, with Howe having previously resigned from Newcastle and Nagelsmann recently leaving his position as Germany's national team coach. Additionally, Unai Emery of Aston Villa is admired by the club, although his contract complicates any potential move.
Howe, who led Newcastle to a League Cup victory and two Champions League qualifications, is open to the role. Nagelsmann gained recognition at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig before managing Bayern Munich. Should Carrick be let go, United would be seeking their eighth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure in 2013.
