Edmonton Elks Extend GM Ed Hervey's Contract Following Successful Season
The Edmonton Elks have announced a contract extension for general manager Ed Hervey, who has played a key role in the team's turnaround this season. The CFL club revealed the extension on Friday, although the terms were not disclosed.
Hervey, who resumed his role in November 2024, has led the Elks from the bottom of the West Division to a first-place finish with a 13-5 record. This marks a significant improvement after the team missed the playoffs for six consecutive seasons, with only 18 players remaining from the roster he inherited.
Elks president and CEO Chris Morris praised Hervey's contributions, emphasizing the cultural shift he has fostered within the organization. The team is set to host its first home playoff game since 2015, facing either the B.C. Lions or Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West Division final next weekend. Hervey previously served as the Elks' general manager from 2013 to 2016, leading the team to a Grey Cup victory in 2015.
