Edu Leaves Nottingham Forest After Year-Long Tenure

Edu, the global head of football at Nottingham Forest, has left the club after a tenure of just over a year at the City Ground.

The former Arsenal midfielder had not attended any games since February, and his departure was anticipated following the termination of his contract. His position faced scrutiny after a disagreement with Nuno Espirito Santo, who was dismissed last September, marking the first of four managerial changes at the club during the last season.

Edu's responsibilities will be taken over by George Syrianos, the chief football officer, as the club does not plan to appoint a replacement. Edu joined Nottingham Forest in July 2025 after a six-year stint at Arsenal, where he served as the first sporting director and contributed to the club's success.
