Eight Former Penn State Players Secure NFL Roster Spots

Eight former Penn State football players have successfully secured spots on NFL rosters following the final team cuts on Sunday. All eight players, who were drafted in April, will represent their respective teams as the regular season approaches.

Vega Ioane, selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the No. 14 pick, is expected to start as the right guard after a strong preseason. Drew Allar has made the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster and is projected to be the third-string quarterback. Dani Dennis-Sutton has also made the Green Bay Packers' roster as a rotational edge rusher, while Zakee Wheatley has secured a role in the Carolina Panthers' secondary.

Kaytron Allen, Penn State's all-time leading rusher, earned a spot on the Washington Commanders' roster despite a fumble in his last preseason game. Nick Singleton, the team's total touchdown leader, is set to have a limited role with the Tennessee Titans. Zane Durant has solidified his position on the Buffalo Bills' defensive line, and Drew Shelton has made the Dallas Cowboys' roster despite earlier criticism.
