El Hijo Del Fishman Arrested After Referee's Death in Wrestling Match
The professional wrestling community is mourning the loss of referee Gerardo German Pineda, who died at the age of 75 after an incident during a match in Hidalgo, Mexico. The event involved luchador El Hijo del Fishman, who has since been arrested as investigations continue.
Pineda, known as El Buho, was officiating a match between Fishman and Mascara Sagrada NG when he took a piledriver from Fishman. Reports indicate that Pineda remained motionless in the ring for several minutes, initially believed to be selling the move. There were no medical personnel present at the event, which is against regulations, and by the time assistance arrived, Pineda had already passed away.
El Patron Espectaculos, the promotion representing Fishman, has acknowledged Pineda's death and stated they are in contact with his family while providing legal support to Fishman. The incident has raised concerns regarding safety protocols at wrestling events.
