Elijah Bieniemy Delays Court Dates for Mental Health Evaluation Following Shooting Incident
Elijah Bieniemy, son of Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, is undergoing a mental health evaluation that has postponed two court appearances linked to the shooting of his mother, Mia Bieniemy.
The incident occurred at their family home in Virginia on Sunday night, leading to Elijah's arrest on Monday. He faces charges including malicious wounding and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Mia Bieniemy has since been released from intensive care after treatment for multiple gunshot wounds. Eric Bieniemy is currently absent from the team as training camp begins, with other coaches managing his responsibilities. Head coach Andy Reid noted that Mia is improving and emphasized the importance of Eric taking care of family matters.
