Elizabeth Koch's Catapult Shuts Down Amid Controversy
Elizabeth Koch's publishing company, Catapult, will end all operations by the end of the month after being sold to an undisclosed buyer. This decision comes shortly after the company announced the closure of its magazine and writing classes, which led to layoffs among staff.
Catapult, founded by Koch in 2015, gained recognition for its literary contributions and support for emerging writers. However, the recent changes have sparked discontent among employees, particularly as they sought to unionize with the National Labor Relations Board.
The fate of Catapult's remaining titles, including 16 scheduled for release this spring, remains uncertain, with authors expressing concern over the lack of communication regarding their works. Koch's upcoming book, The Perception Box, is set to be published in April.
