Elton John Expresses Disappointment Over Watford's Recent Performance

Elton John, the former owner of Watford FC, has expressed his disappointment regarding the team's performance after they suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to Burnley, who are currently in 22nd place in the Championship.

Watford is currently positioned 20th in the league, having lost three consecutive matches and five out of their last six games. John, a lifelong supporter of the club, shared his feelings in a now-deleted Instagram comment, highlighting his concern for fellow fans witnessing the team's decline.

Watford appointed Alessio Dionisi as manager in June, marking his tenure as the 12th head coach since the end of the 2020-21 season. Despite a promising start, including a victory over Southampton, the team has struggled recently, with their last win occurring against Preston last month. The recent loss to Burnley was particularly disheartening, as Burnley had only won one league match in 2026 prior to this game.
